Government policy on our roads



GOVERNMENT POLICIES ON ROAD SAFETY
Government should enforce some policies that would compel any driver to wear seat belt anytime he or she is driving whether long journey or short.
The NRSC and its implementation agency under the government has no excuse to give for any lapses because the whole country is looking up to them. They should lead the way to attain the 50% reduction of road traffic crash fatalities by 2020 hopeful.
The five pillars of the global road safety plan enforcement of rules and regulations to enhance safety should be pursuing to the letters. Road safety as a national priority required maximum attention from management of agencies who are representative of government whose actions and inaction had a bearing on road safety.
Government should ensure that the nights procedures for handling road traffic offenses be followed where the right civilians should also be protected in the performance of their duties. Government must be more proactive and resourced the police unit note more speed guns, alcohol detectors and additional vehicles to enhance effective operations. They must also improve the skills and attitudes of drivers and riders and proving better safety education. Govt can further reduction of cost of emergency services, health, and welfare services insurance traffic congestion and as well as personal cost to people affected by road collisions.
